Though its curvy shape is exclusively for right-handed users, the MX Master 3S is not officially an ergonomic mouse, unlike Logitech’s MX Vertical. It is not a fast-twitch gaming mouse with 16,000 dots per inch (dpi) resolution, but its all-terrain Darkfield sensor has been upgraded from 4,000dpi to 8,000dpi, which is more than enough for making quick moves over a huge 4K monitor or numerous monitors.

The Logitech MX Master 3S mouse is an excellent choice for workplace use. It has a pleasant ergonomic form with a thumb rest and feels quite well-made. It connects wirelessly using Bluetooth or the supplied USB receiver and can pair with up to three devices at once. The customization software allows you to alter sensor settings, develop custom gesture controls, and remap buttons. It features two independent scroll wheels, one for horizontal and one for vertical scrolling.
The vertical scroll wheel can also convert automatically between a more exact scrolling mode and a faster, free-scrolling mode based on how quickly you scroll. Externally, the MX Master 3S is almost identical to its predecessor, the MX Master 3. It boasts a deeply sculpted design that seeks to anticipate where every portion of your right hand might wish to sit, from a thumb rest on the left to a little depression to provide pinkie finger purchase on the right.
There are no left-handed options, and the mouse is not ambidextrous. The mouse has six buttons in total. Two thumb buttons are on the left side, and a third thumb button at the bottom of the thumb rest serves as a shortcut key when combined with mouse movements. On top, there are two regular mouse buttons and a third that toggles the scroll wheel between ratcheting and freewheeling modes.
While the tech enthusiast in me would want to see more innovation in the design and feature set, the MX Master 3S didn’t require many modifications from its predecessor to be the best power mouse. Now it’s only a little more future-proof for an 8K or second 4K display.
